A Long-Time Apple Nerd’s Review of the Galaxy Nexus and First Experience With Android

A review of the Galaxy Nexus from the perspective of an iPhone 4 user

Android should be reserved for those who know what they are getting into. If someone I know needs a recommendation for what smart phone to get, I would not recommend Android to them.

  1. I recently brought the Samsung Galaxy Y, the baby brother of the S2 i suppose.
it has ssh, irc, ftp, ftp-server, opera and its own web browser, echolink, dxcluster, skype, email, google+, chat progs and messangers, vnc, youtube, winamp, various music and video progs, nimbuzz, facebook, twitter, realplayer, facebook chat and google chat, aprs and thats the only app i paid for, gps status for your maidenhead locator and long and lat and an onscreen compass with altitude and speed and accelleration, satnav, fmradio, camera, plus micro sd card slot and headphone socket, also Angry Birds for those long boring days in hospital, plus loads more from the app market.
not bad for 80quid from carphone warehouse and 115quid sim free, compared to the S2 which is hundreds.

all in all the Android fones are nice and easy to use and smooth and reliable with the added bonus of 7.2mbps internet and b/g/n wifi :)
